A Narrow Escape
I got down at the Grantt Road station, took a cab for Jaslok Hospital, to my uncle’s place. Everything went cool and fine. The cab halted at the destination, I got down rather merrily. The meter said 26 INR. I was done with my payment part and just as I stretched my hand inside the front window of the cab to take back the change, a Maruti SX4 just banged into the cab and sent it a considerable distance forward, rotating about its axis. I was stunned by the collision and for a few seconds, I could not comprehend what exactly happened. My brain was too numb to feel the pain in my hand which was caused by this accident.
Though the collision occurred on a really massive scale, everyone involved happened to escape without any injury whatsoever (except me, who had just a little swelling in his hand). Apparently, the driver of the SX4 (who was an old man around the age of 70) lost the control of his car, and panicked to the extent that he forgot that there happens to be a thing called “brake” in the car. He somehow decided my cab to be a perfect instrument to put his car to a halt and banged right through it.
It was narrow escape for every one of the three parties involved. Luckily I was standing on the footpath and the SX4 guy did not consider me a worthy enough target to bring his vehicle to a halt. Hence, here I am alive to blog about this 😛 😉
